About Plantation Cottages

Plantation Cottages has it's roots firmly established in Brunswick County, North Carolina. As a component of Plantation Builders, a custom designed home builder, Plantation Cottages traces it beginning in the 1970's as a home designer and builder in the local beach towns as well as in Southport and Boiling Spring Lakes. With the arrival of the golf plantations in the 1990’s, starting with St. James, the company adopted the trade name of "Plantation Builders". In 1997, the building company acquired Arc-Tryon, which has focused Plantation Builders on guiding individual clients through a quality process for the design and construction of their dream homes. 

Plantation Cottages was established in 2006 to provide affordable luxury homes using turn-key construction.

The present day accomplishments of Plantation Builders and Plantation Cottages are the result of and endless pursuit for success from Bob Parvin. Through his effort and passion for home building, he pioneered "team-based" building and assembled his team of exceptional and talented individuals who share this passion in all areas of construction.

Led today by Elaine Gililland, Plantation Builders continues the traditions established by Bob. In 2004 and again in 2007, Plantation Builders won the Gold Medal Award in the Wilmington area Parade of Homes. Elaine has brought the team-based building process to Plantation Cottages to continue the tradition of superior homebuilding.
